The Lucknow university completely came in existence in 1921 recognized by U.G.C. provide the teaching in era of Art ,Science ,Commerce ,Law ,medical ,management, as well as in the engineering. The university have teachers from all parts of the world Keeping in view the growing need for education and professionalism. The University has more than 25 recognized associated colleges for the teaching of undergraduate courses. Some of these colleges have also been permitted to undertake postgraduate teaching in various subjects. The university has given some brilliant students to the country who is surviving in the many fields like politics, sports and in era of medicine.
The idea of starting University at Lucknow was
first came in mind Sir Mohammad Ali Mohammad Khan and full credit goes to
establish the university to Mrs. khan. The most attraction of this university is
the library of this university known by the name of Tagore library which
has more than 5 lac collection of the book. This library is one of the richest
library of the country. For establish good relationship among
students, employee and the teacher university has three main bodies -
Lucknow
University Teachers' Association, Lucknow University Students' Union and Lucknow

Campus of Lucknow University
This time the university has number of buildings but in the early days university had no any building. The main campus of Lucknow university situated at Sitapur road on the eastern bank of river Gomati. The building is an Awadh style, need and clean known by the name of Ashok Vatika. The building is with concrete and glass structure. In the campus number of indoor-outdoor sports ground and park hostels and libraries are available.

Lucknow University Library
The university library was established in 1820 at the time of university foundation known by the name of Tagore library. The library has more than 5 lac collections of book related to all the subjects and all the authors book.. Tagore library is one of the richest library of India With the advent of Information Technology, this library is also changing its traditional format. In the starting ime Tagor library was situated in the old bannet halls and room verandah on the South-Western side of main Canning College building. The working time of library is betwen 10.00 A.M to 5 P.M on Monday to Saturday..
