Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow is a medical science University established in 1983 under State Act. The SGPIMS is 15 km from the main city, and campus is spread in 550 acrs. The degree offers by the institute are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The SGPIMS is one of the topmost medical college in India, delivering state-of-art tertiary medical care, super-specialty teaching, training and research. Library Facilities :The Library of this institute is another attraction which has more than 15,000 books. 250 readers can sit together. The library has more than 40,000 of books related to all fields of medical science t as well as different area's like history related nobles of great authors and other books are available. The library is operating in a fully automated environment. . The library subscribes to nearly 450 scientific journalsThe automation activities of the library are supported by LAN. This library has also cyber lab and an audio visual lab.
Computer Facilities :The Icollege provide the computer facilities, with more than 200 computers spread all over the hospital and departments. Internet connections are available in all the departments. All faculty members, residents and students are provided with e-mail facilities. All the patient care activites are computerized with implementation of a Windows-based hospital information system.
